This seminar examined the future for healthcare in Northern Ireland, the next steps in the implementation of the Delivering Together report and priorities for the Transformation Implementation Group (TIG).
Delegates examined health service transformation, and considered opportunities for further cooperation, scaling up of good practice and attracting further investment.
Further sessions looked at the latest thinking on tackling the challenges presented by reform, including a commitment to transform services; the future commissioning and planning of services; and the increasing use of co-production; as well as issues around workforce planning and investment.
Those in attendance highlighted the need to focus on the delivery of those reforms to services which have already been agreed to date, and examined priorities in the shift toward primary and community care - looking at the needs of GPs, and the future role for community pharmacies, social care practitioners and AHPs in the delivery of reformed services.
